MARIA GARZON (pianist)

The Spanish pianist Maria Garzon received her musical education in Madrid, Salzburg, Koln and London.

She has performed as a soloist at international venues, including Wigmore Hall, Queen Elisabeth Hall, Barbican and Carnegie Hall.

She has performed at several International music festivals, including Greece (Thessaloniki), Tunisia (Carthage ), Turkey (Antalya), Spain (Granada and Canary islands), Austria (Salzburg) and Germany (Weikersheim).

Maria Garzon’s award winning recordings include two albums of Spanish piano music by J.Rodrigo, and E.Elgar. She has been instrumental in the rediscovery of J.L.Dussek piano works, recording his 29 sonatas for the Heritage label (6 Cds) and Dussek’s piano concertos for the Koch/Universal label in co-production with WDR.

She has also recorded the complete piano works of the Czeck composer, Viktor Ullman.

Maria Garzon is a Steinway artist, an honorary member of ILAMS and a fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA).
